Sea of Thieves is one of the four Xbox titles heading for new shores with its PS5 port — not only that, it's the first ever PlayStation game from Rare. The seafaring multiplayer game lets you live out all kinds of pirate-themed adventures in its sandbox environment, and we're excited to finally take it for a spin. A big draw for some, though, is the allure of a good Trophy list, and Sea of Thieves is looking to deliver on that front big time.
As reported by TrueTrophies, the game is set to launch with an eye-watering 254 Trophies on PS5. This includes a base set of 60 — including the Platinum — and a secondary set, which comprises an additional 194 trinkets to collect. If it's the Plat you're after, you need only concentrate on the base list, but true Trophy hunters really do have their work cut out.
While some Trophies are tied to progression through pirate ranks and getting new equipment, many of them are quite situational, which makes sense given the title's sandbox nature. You'll need to complete certain sailing feats, combat actions, and other pirate-y things, like throwing up from drinking too much, raise a flag to certain trading companies, and of course, accruing treasure.
You can view the full list through here if you're curious. Sea of Thieves sets sail on PS5 from 30th April — will you be part of the crew? Are you planning to nab the Platinum for this one? Tell us in the comments section below.

The game relying heavily on pvp is a big turn off especially as someone who would want to go solo. And yes you can play solo but it then makes the game mega hard to control all aspects of the ship whilst fighting on your own. If they added AI crewmates and a single player mode then I would think about getting it.
Considering my Series S now occupies a prized position on an abandoned closet shelf...it is a little tempting to enjoy the best sailing mechanics in gaming. Even if I still don't care for the always on, live service model.
"It takes around 1000 hours to unlock all of the achievements in the base game."
I think I'll pass.
@UltimateOtaku91 You can play with just a crew of pals on a private server if that helps? Me and my kids play it together and it's good fun without constantly getting plundered by some 300 foot death boat. Although awards are reduced and some stuff is capped, if you are just there for the fun of it, it's the way to go.
@Anke there is not a single game in the world worth that amount of hours 😒
@Xbox_Dashboard Having spent a lot of time out at sea, I can honestly say this game captures the sights and sounds of the open ocean perfectly (especially when using spatial audio with headphones). Sometimes I love to boot up the game to sail around for a little while just to soak it all in as it can be quite relaxing.
It also helps that the water simulation is all calculated via the Cloud - one of the very few games out there where Hybrid Computing is ever used.
The ship has sailed a gd while for me on this game lol,but honestly I played it on xbox one x and thought it was quite good and fun as well and that was very early on after game released,I may dive back in on ps5 at some pt but not at the moment
Can’t wait to play this game again! I subscribed to Gamepass for a couple of months to try Starfield and Forza, but ended up playing Sea of thieves and Forza Horizon 4 until the sub expired! 250 Trophies? Bring it on!!
That’s a lot of trophies.
I’m a 100%er so I shall be avoiding this like the M4 on a Friday afternoon
@UltimateOtaku91 Same here.
Sounds like a lot of Bronze Plunder and no Gold booty to fill the Trophy coffers arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
@GamingFan4Lyf my favorite is the VERY small taste of how terrifying the open sea can be in a storm. They nailed the vertically that can happen. I didn't know about the cloud functionality with that tho. That's interesting. I put a solid 200 hours in on the One X and the sailing alone is worth the price of admission. The PvP I could care less about however. I'll probably do the Safer Seas mode. Even if it removes Ship Loadouts.
254 Trophies?
“You’re gonna need a bigger boat”.
@Anke only people who would be into 100% this trophy list is people who have never seen the outside, trophy sets have become so demanding these days, good example here 😬
@JalapenoSpiceLife wait how old are you? Because trophies overall are significantly easier overall than when they first launched on PS3 lol
Especially platinums. For a good summary go compare the Mortal Kombat trophies from 9 to 1. I'd say that's reflective of how trophies in general have gotten easier across the board and through the years
